Investment Account

An instant access current account designed for professional deputies who manage the financial affairs of clients who do not have the capacity to make decisions themselves.  The account can also be used by Executors or Personal Representatives appointed to administer the estate of a person who has died. 

Unlike our fixed term and notice savings accounts, the Investment Account is an instant access account with full banking facilities that allows up to 20 day-to-day transactions* per calendar month without incurring a transaction fee. Thereafter a charge of £0.75 per debit transaction is applicable.

The Account offers full internet banking access and a VISA Deferred-Debit Card, allowing clients to make their 20 transactions per calendar month in the same way as our Access Capitol Bank current accounts (however as our current accounts offer unlimited day-to-day transactions, these are more suited to being the main bill-paying account).

Clients can open an Investment Account with just £5,000 and must maintain a minimum balance of £5,000 in the account. Interest rates are tiered, and no interest is paid on balances under £100,000. If the account balance falls below the £5,000 minimum required, a charge of £15 will be applicable in each calendar month that the balance is below the minimum.

*Day to day transactions on this account are: cheque withdrawals; cash machine withdrawals; cash withdrawals over-the-counter; Visa Deferred-Debit Card purchases including recurring transactions; Standing Orders, Direct Debits; bill payments and electronic payments.

It is extremely important that clients fully understand the account, the interest rates and the relevant Terms and Conditions before submitting the application.

Checklist

All clients must:

  • Read and print or save all the below documents this must include the Depositor Protection - Information Sheet and Exclusions List
  • Visit the interest rates page relevant to the Account
  • View the banking tariff
  • Complete, print and sign the application form
  • Post the form to us along with all necessary ID

Each application will usually be processed within 5 days of us receiving it as long as the application is completed correctly and accompanied by all required documents.
